So I'm sitting in a church in the worship hall typing on this message board because it's quiet it's a bit ironic.

Not everything that is opposite is ironic.  Situational irony is when the outcome is very different from what was intended by the person.

If he went there to pray for rain and instead his prayers directly resulted in a drought, that would be ironic.  If he went there intending to convert the preacher to Satanism, and instead the preacher managed to convert him to the church's faith, that would be ironic.  If he was himself the Christian preacher, delivering a Christian sermon, but under the podium he was posting on the TST forum, that would be ironic.  If his mom sent him there specifically to keep him away from Satanists, then from her perspective his post would be a bit ironic.  :)
Now more than ever.
