Guilty pleasure musician/band
« on: December 21, 2016, 08:54:31 PM »
So, without assuming anything about everyone on here, I'm guessing that there's a lot of people into darker styles of music, heavy or not. I know I've been a metalhead for decades (yes, i'm old. Get off my lawn), but I love hearing about bands/musicians that people have as a guilty pleasure. Not just "Oh yea, I own a few Prince albums" because, honestly, who doesn't? What's the most questionable thing in your playlist/cd wallet?

I honestly just want to justify my own. Mine is bad.

What's yours?

I'm old too, and my guiltiest pleasure is ZZ Top.
Now more than ever.

ZZ Top isn't that bad, though, but it's a good one. I mean, this topic really has legs. It knows how to use them.

I was a kid when I saw my first ZZ Top video and just came to the conclusion that pretty women could get free cars from guys with beards, and all these years later, I can't really dispute those facts.

I can't argue with that. I think everyone should have their alarm set on any day that starts the month with Bone Thugs' "1st of Tha Month". Makes you wanna just cash your check and come on.

I really like Kero Kero Bonito, SOPHIE, Easy Fun, and anything on Radio Gosha.

I'm supposed to be a "hardcore metalhead" I have long hair, go to tons of concerts, got tons of extreme metal albums...but the most eyebrow-raising stuff in my collection would probably be John Denver and Judy Collins

I got a weird look at the record store when I checked out with a stack full of black metal coupled with "John Denver's Greatest Hits" lol

Lol, that's awesome. I know the record store troubles as well. I'll grab stuff from Ghost, Meshuggah and other great bands and try to sneak Morrissey's Bona Drag in there, then blame it on a girlfriend who may or may not exist, because I'm certainly not opening that one first to play in the car ride home, singing every word.
