The Party of Reason and Progress
« on: November 10, 2016, 07:19:26 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I joined TST a while ago but haven't really contributed. In the wake of the election, I thought this was relevant enough that I should mention it.

There is a fledgling political party in the works, it has gained roughly 6,000 members in the single day of its existence. You can find it (currently) on Facebook and Twitter, with official website to follow shortly. They don't plan to run candidates in any election where said candidate could spoil the ballot for an existing reasonable candidate.

I think our goals are very well aligned. This could be our version of the Republican alliance with the evangelicals. That said, we will of course want to avoid any sketchy church/state interaction.

Thanks for hearing me out!

I read about PORP yesterday and was also intrigued! I'm curious about learning more about it and look forward to seeing how their new party progresses. We could use more reason interjected into American politics, that is for certain.
