Any leathercrafters out there?
« on: August 03, 2016, 10:35:29 AM »
I'm new to the forums, and I am pleased to see that this Art category exists! I have been leather-crafting for a few years now, and just recently started devoting more time to my art. Anyone else into the same discipline? Here's a few pics of some recent projects that people here may dig:

I apprenticed a leather worker, once upon a time. I'm also friends with a few leather artisans who still create their art. One day... (*sighs wistfully*) I'll have room for my own shop and start leather working again. Lifegoals, yeah?

Just wanted to compliment you on your work, though. I love the way you dyed the leather for the axe sheath (would that be considered a frog?) and the bracer.  The wallet lettering-- is that stamped or hand carved/burned? Also- the LOTR map looks great!
Curious and absolutely,

Thank you! The lettering on the wallet was done by hand with a new tool I bought called a freehand groover. It is meant for carving a channel for stitching, but I re-purposed it.
